Heat Exchanger Clean
Overview of Project:
Vent condenser on the brine concentrator becomes blocked and results in reduced flows.
Scope of Works:
Use high pressure jet rod to descale the vent condenser.
Innovations:
Fabricated a catch and drain to control the discharge, previously the cleans had been completed without this devise and the scale was free to contaminate the steel structure and surrounds.
Challenges:
Working at height, working with high pressure water.
Conclusion/Outcome:
The clean was successful on several occasions, the process was changed, and this resulted in the cleans being less frequent, the scale become harder and required ultra-high pressure to clean.
