Winch and Trash Screens Installation at Dam

Overview of Project:

The Dam was a mass concrete gravity arch dam with earth fill abutments and an ungated spillway across the River that is located in the south east region of Queensland, Australia. 

Scope of Works:

Supply, installation and commissioning of an electric chain hoist and all lifting accessories at the dam.  Installation of new trash screens and guide rails and operator training on the new winch and trash screen system.  The winch, trash screen and guide rails specs were reviewed, and it was discovered that modifications were required to the original prototype design to suit the application and operator requirements.

In conjunction with Abyss Diving the winch and trash screens were installed.

In conjunction with the client the work was commissioned.

Conclusion/Outcome:

The project was completed on time and on budget.  The client was happy with the works undertaken.
